Aviation profile appointed new CEO of DCC & Shell Aviation Denmark

Date

Kasper Tranberg has been appointed as the new CEO of one of Denmark’s leading providers of logistics, consulting, and fuel supplies to the aviation industry, DCC & Shell Aviation Denmark. The 45-year-old aviation expert, who is also a seasoned pilot, is now returning to the daily operations at Danish airports after several years in international positions with Airbus, Topcast, and TP Aerospace.

Kasper Tranberg’s official first day in the role is June 1st, when he takes on the position as CEO of DCC & Shell Aviation, the leading provider of fuel supplies and services to Danish airports. He brings extensive industry experience, having spent over 20 years in aviation, with broad exposure to both operational aviation and the underlying supply chains.

As a trained pilot and captain, he has flown for both Cimber Sterling and DAT, as well as Jet-Time and Ryanair. As an auditor Kasper Tranberg has also worked extensively with the complex supply chain characteristic of the aviation industry. It is therefore no surprise that Christian Heise, a board member at DCC & Shell Aviation Denmark, is pleased with attracting the new CEO.

“Our business and collaboration with actors in Danish aviation are highly specialized operations. As a trusted partner, advisor, and guarantor for fuel supplies and logistics at airports, we sought a leadership profile with very specific, yet relatively rare skills and experience. I am therefore very pleased that we have been able to bring in such a strong and experienced aviation professional as Kasper for DCC & Shell Aviation Denmark,” says Christian Heise.

DCC & Shell Aviation Denmark employs approximately 100 people across Denmark. The company originated from Dansk Shell, which in 2016 sold off its Danish aviation business to DCC Energy. In 2019, Shell’s global aviation division re-entered into the current joint venture with DCC Energy. As one of Denmark’s largest logistics and fuel suppliers to aviation, the company covers the entire country, including airport operations in Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

In recent years, DCC & Shell Aviation Denmark has been a key partner in supplying SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) to Danish airports and airlines. The opportunity to be part of a company involved in both meeting the current needs for secure fuel supplies and the future shift towards more sustainable solutions is what appeals most to Kasper Tranberg.

“Aviation is facing a difficult but necessary transition towards increasingly low emission flights. Today, SAF plays a central role in the new Refuel-EU regulation, which both we and the industry must comply with. And at DCC & Shell Aviation we have an important role in ensuring compliance, quality, and supplies, regardless of the type of aviation fuel,” he says, adding:

“This makes it a truly interesting opportunity for me to join one of the key players in the market. I look forward to returning to Danish aviation at a time when the transition to the future is a high priority, and I am very eager to start the collaboration with my colleagues and the board at DCC & Shell Aviation, who have already welcomed me warmly and professionally”.

Kasper Tranberg graduated as a pilot in 2001. Since then, his career has taken him from captain positions in several airlines, through completing a Cand. Merc. in International Business Management, to roles in business development, tender management, and expatriation as General Manager for Topcast in the US, most recently serving as Vice President of Sales and Business Development at TP Aerospace.

Privately, Kasper Tranberg lives in Roskilde with his wife Louise. They have two sons, aged 12 and 14.
